Wordless Wednesday...almost...

 This almost Wordless Wednesday post is dedicated to my Smith Family!  She does have strong Smith genes, as you can tell from the photo above...lol! 

Manic Monday...

It's just another Manic Monday...

Prior to our hospital visit, we attended a Toddler Fair in our area.  It was at a local school, which is currently accepting applications for children 2 and up.  It's a beautiful campus, but tuition for our 2 year old would be close to what I paid for one year of college...wow!  Needless to say, there were tons of fun things for Sloan to do and other vendors to check out, so we were more there for the fun than to check out the school. 

As you can see from the photo above, there was even a fire truck there for the kids to check out.  Sloan liked the lights on the front of the truck. 

Today is going to be busy, catching up on things I was suppose to do this past weekend and speaking with the doctor to see if there are any other follow up tests they want to perform to check on BBH this week.  My next regular appointment is not scheduled until the 22nd, so they will probably have me come in this week for another check up. 

Laundry, dry cleaning, cleaning the floors downstairs...just another manic Monday. 

Sunday's Simple Pleasures...

• It's a good week when your husband brings home a beautiful bouquet of flowers.

• When you get to workout twice in one week and still feel good!

• When two of your best friends call you just to check in.

• Spending five hours at the hospital last night, thinking that BBH might arrive a little too early - but being sent home instead.

• Being able to call my mother, who came up on a moments notice, to be there for us and to take care of Sloan during our crazy night last night.

• Spending today finishing up BBH's room, which will be highlighted in photos this week on the blog and feeling that we're almost ready for his arrival. 

Life is good!

Saturday Sloan...

There are two things that happened this week that I want to capture in today's Saturday Sloan.  We've been a busy household lately, so Sloan has been going to daycare twice a week lately.  She seems to love it and is getting better about transitioning from Mom and Dad to daycare.  This week, something happened that made me smile...and also made my heart break.  I was getting her ready for a fun day together with me, when Russ was getting ready to leave for work.  She ran to the door and almost cried when he left without her.  He normally takes her to school, so our thought was that she wanted to go that particular day.  It was precious.  Of course I was a little heartbroken, because I had planned a fun filled day for us.  But I was also glad to see that she does look forward to school.  

This week she also did her first forward roll.  Of course I had to help her do it, but she loved it.  When I was young, my Mother took me to the YMCA for a toddler gym class.  I remember the parachute and of course the low balance beam.  It was neat to see Sloan in her first gym class, which we've signed up to attend until BBH's arrival. 

Her hugs are still my favorite and her vocabulary still amazes us.  Today she said, "Where are we?"  We both laughed when she said it because we were actually lost when she asked - how funny.  The photo above was taken this past Tuesday just before she left for school.  Thanks to Nina, who got her a new backpack with her name on it, which she loves to wear it school. 

Fantastic Friday...

It's another Fantastic Friday!  Why - well let me tell you.  Today I'm officially 34 weeks!!!  We had a doctor's appointment on Wednesday and BBH is doing well.  Although he is getting bigger, I have just recently started to feel slower, swollen, and bloated, which is nice because I feel it's happened later this time around then during the first pregnancy.  The heat in Maryland has been minimal - to the point where we haven't even turned on our downstairs air conditioner!  Isn't that amazing!  We have the upstairs unit running, but our home gets such great shade that we haven't needed it on downstairs yet! 

I'm still in a relatively pleasant weight range.  Again, no where near the amount of fat which I carried with Sloan.  BBH seems to be all belly, which does have it's challenges, but will hopefully disappear once he arrives!  His heartbeat was good and although it doesn't matter, he is already head down. 

We wait another two weeks for our next doctor's appointment and then we begin going every week.  Then at 37 weeks we'll have another ultra sound - to check his size and potential arrival status.  I'm convinced he will come on August 18th - at 9 am! 

Another reason it's a Fantastic Friday is because my BBH counter begins with the number 3!  Only 39 more days until his arrival!!  I'm getting excited and any and all steps to highlight how much closer we are to the actual day is worth being excited about!

Oh - and one more reason it's a Fantastic Friday...because Jillian, the Bachelorette, finally sent home that worthless guy Wes!!  And Ed is back - I heart Ed!  Yes, I'm again addicted to The Bachelor/Bachelorette series.  Unbelievable!  Have a great day!

Package from Florida...

Another wonderful package arrived from Florida this past weekend for BBH.  To our surprise, there were presents inside for everyone!  The gifts were from Grandma Jill and Grandpa John.  Thanks a ton!!!  Here are a few photos of us opening our gifts.   

Jill always sends her gifts in cool storage boxes, which I have used as toy boxes for the kids.  The above box will go in BBH's room as his toy box.  Sloan had hers in Tokyo, but quickly wore it out getting toys out of it.  It was the perfect size for her sitting only stage.  The adorable blanket will go in BBH's room for future use! 

   

Russ got a cute outfit...can't wait to see that on you honey!  And Sloan had a TON of fun unwrapping her gifts.  Thanks again! 

Wordless Wednesday...

BBH's Shrine...

I've been getting a lot of slack around the house...from one male currently residing in our home, who has been making fun on my BBH shrine.  See, I wanted to highlight all of the wonderful Sprinkle gifts that we got during our surprise shower last weekend.  So I laid everything out on BBH's new changing table in his room and took photos of the stuff.  Well, Russ keeps walking into his room and bowing down to the changing table - ha ha, very funny. 

So, now to highlight the wonderful things we received at the shower.  As you can see, most of the gifts were adorable blue outfits!!  We also got books and a gift certificate, which I purchased the storage containers located on the second and third shelves of the changing table.  It's just wonderful to see all of these neat blue things waiting for BBH in his room.  These are also the first pictures of his room.  I want to do an entire post of both the kids rooms - so more fun photos to come.  As for the artwork above the changing table, this masterpiece was painted by Russ' mother.  It's a portrait of her father.  We love the colors and the history.  Thank you Mim, for the wonderful artwork.

And special thanks to everyone who gave us gifts at the sprinkle shower!  I can't wait to get them washed and hung for BBH.  He will be the best dressed kid...for months! 

4th of July...

 

We had a great 4th of July with my family in Annapolis.  Sloan did really well on Nina and Danny's boat.  I wasn't sure if she would like the motion and the noise.  Well, needless to say she is a daughter of a sailor because her sea legs were great!  She did so well and even fell asleep on the drive back home after the fireworks.  The timing of the fireworks weren't the best for her.  It was just time for her to go to bed when the firework show began.  She was a little scared at first but enjoyed the ending with her bottle in hand!

The adults enjoyed great food, drinks, and conversation!  It's always good to see everyone - especially cute pregnant ones - Pam and Caroline.  :)  Here are a few great photos from our celebration.

- celebrating a wonderful Independence Day with family and friends

- cleaning the house and realizing it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be

- realizing that my daughter now understands that my leg might be the best place to nap for now, because I can't hold her the same way with my growing belly

- having an amazing weekend with my husband and him topping it off with an out of this world meal this evening

life is good.
